Luanda Science Center to be completed in the coming months


O Luanda Science Center (CCL) it should be ready in the coming months, according to a note from the Presidency of the Republic, when João Lourenço visited the site.

The infrastructure comes to be an institution of scientific dissemination, endowed with legal personality, administrative, financial and patrimonial autonomy, which arises from the idea of ​​the Angolan Government to create an institution specialized in the dissemination and popularization of scientific and technological knowledge within civil society country, with the aim of stimulating and cultivating interest in science and technology.

Its objective is to raise the scientific and technological literacy of the population, in general, and of children and young people in particular. The CCL will have spaces for the dissemination of Angolan culture, history, fauna, as well as areas for chemistry, physics, mathematics and electricity experimentation.

It will also include the areas of the planetarium, the dinosaur, the butterfly house, laboratories, library and a soap factory so that users, essentially children, learn, even playing, the production process of this good.

The CCL is being built on the site where the Companhia Geral de Angola soap factory once operated, and will comprise thematic areas with cultural exhibitions from different parts of the country.
