During the main event of the Seedstars Africa 2017, Cláudia Makadristo, Regional Manager of Seedstars, told us about the experience of traveling on the African continent in the last 3 years to learn about technological entrepreneurship initiatives.
In her presentation, Cláudia, who besides the Angolan nationality also has the Dutch, referred that there are 5 key paths, so that the continent has a more accentuated development:
1. Not depend on the rest of the world - in the sense that African countries create their own solutions and use the resources available to leverage business initiatives.
2. Transform the continent through telecommunications- the startups that are facing this market, have the chance to progress more quickly, using the facilities brought by the greater approximation between entrepreneurs and other stakeholders.
3. Use Drones to solve real problems- Several countries in Africa are using drones to solve various problems, ranging from health-for delivery of drugs in hard-to-reach areas-to agriculture-in mapping the fields.
4. All attention turned to Africa- investors, entrepreneurs, business partners and others are all attentive to the African market, which each day brings more opportunities, resources and a consumer base willing to buy. The market has become more competitive and this is the decisive moment to bet.
5. Africa without borders- Visa exclusion policy in Africa can benefit the continent economically, socially, culturally, bringing knowledge and transforming countries' reality.
Some of these points are the present and others are part of a future in which the accelerated development of the continent through the use of technologies may be a reality.
