The 6th edition of AOPF & AONOG kicks off with discussions on Critical Infrastructure and Digital Inclusion.

The telecommunications sector in Angola launched the 6th edition of this Thursday. AOPF (Angolan Open Peering Forum) and the AOG (Angolan Network Operators Group), one of the most important events on the national technology calendar. The meeting takes place on the days 6th and 7th of November out of 2025, at the Hotel Palmeiras, in Luanda, bringing together representatives from operators, internet providers, academics and technical experts from the Angolan digital ecosystem.

The conference, which has established itself as an essential platform for sharing technical knowledge and promoting cooperation among the main actors in the sector, aims to strengthen the country's digital infrastructure and foster interconnection between national and international networks.

During the afternoon panel, participants attended a roundtable discussion dedicated to the topic. "Critical Infrastructure: Data Centers, IXPs, Network Operators, Submarine Cables and Satellites", moderated by Vita Ngombo. The debate included interventions from John Baptist Antosc, Fábio José (Raxio Datacenters) Ernesto Alberto (AAI), Clementino Fernando (Angola Cables) and Maximino Paca (Anyconnect), which analyzed the challenges and opportunities for strengthening connectivity and the resilience of digital infrastructures in Angola.

On the first day, the conference also featured other technical sessions of great interest. In Session 5, Nilton Mendes presented the topic "The Role of Micro ISPs in Digital Inclusion in Angola", highlighting the contribution of small internet companies in expanding access to rural and peripheral areas. Session 6, led by Sergio Nunes, addressed the "Implementation of BGP in Wide Area Networks", focusing on best practices and challenges faced by national operators.
