In 2016 it was realized aa 6ª edition of the contest DStv Eutelsat Star, the entries for the 7 DStv Eutelsat Star Awards started on January 29th, focusing on high school and high school students across the African continent.
The competition is a partnership between DStv and Eutelsat with the aim of stimulating interest in satellite science and technology
Who can participate?
Students ranging from 14 to 19 years of age can apply from today writing a creative writing or drawing a poster based on the following theme: "Already sixty years have passed since the first satellite, Sputnik, was released, transmitting a unique and easily captured signal 'beep, beep, beep'. Looking back and with that historical moment in mind, write a text or draw a poster describing how satellites launched humanity for the 21st century and how they played the unifying role".
What will be the prize for the winner?
The final winner in the editorial category has the privilege of visiting the Eutelsat facilities in Paris and watching the launch of a satellite, and the winner in the poster category also receives a trip to Paris to visit the Eutelsat facilities, as well as benefits of a guided visit to a satellite construction center.
The deadline for submissions is until March 1 of 2018.

To compete, students must sign up by completing the form that is available at DStv stores or downloading from the website www.dstvstarawards.com . Applications must be submitted in Portuguese.
