Academics defend more investment in ICTs

Greater investment in new information technologies, to improve the quality of the public service throughout the national territory, is an idea defended by several Chinese specialists.

Speaking during the formation of the “Angolan Media Talents”, which took place online from the 8th to the 21st of this month, academics reinforced that an investment in ICTs contributes to the development of the country and to its insertion in an international scenario marked by technological innovations ranging from artificial intelligence to the research of genetic codes, passing through the diversification of energy sources and the exploration of outer space.

To get an idea of ​​the importance of the sector, reinforce the experts, currently 50% of the wealth of developed countries derive from the generation of Technology and Information (ICT), responsible for eight out of ten new jobs.

The consultants also criticized the little importance given by governments in general to investments aimed at reducing this inequality, on which the development of countries largely depends.

About the course “Talents of the Media of Angola”, it was given by academics, specialists and Chinese communication specialists, from the Business School of Shanghai, in an initiative of the Embassy of China in Angola and the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of China.

Within the scope of new era International Communication practices, more than 30 professionals from the Angolan public and private media participated in the course, where the role of journalists and the press and the information conveyed to satisfy the main problems of the communities were discussed.

Among the various topics addressed were "The Effect of Media on Socio-Economic Development in China", "The Development of Small and Medium Enterprises", "Development and International Communication of New Media in China", "Effects of Media on Socio-Economic Development" " New Media Marketing with the Context of the Digital Economy” and “Analysis of the Effect of Big Data Communication and Convergence Media”.

The “International Cooperation for the Prevention and Control of Covid-19”, “Cooperation between China and Angola”, “Qualification and Cultivation of New Media Talents” are other topics that were discussed in the online training.
