A rate of access to Internet services of up to 75 percent of the active population could mean the generation of 44 jobs for our country, according to the manager of the Acelera Net program of Angola Cables, Eng. Chrysostom Mbundu.

The manager spoke during the round table, with the theme "The challenges of the country's digital acceleration", in which Eng Matias Borges (National Director of Telecommunications and Technologies), Dr. José Silva (CEO of IpWorld) and Dr. Antonio Pinto (Marketing Director at NCR), embroidered the need to create a strategy for the development of technological infrastructures in our country, as well as the creation of a local software industry, since Angola still spends large sums on technological services imported.

BUT: Challenges of digital acceleration is the theme of the IV Conference on Digital Transformation

In the same panel, Matias Borges indicated that Angola is in fourteenth (14th) place as a user of 1GB (one gigabyte) and current consumption prices are low, but, he recognizes, the use is still not satisfactory for users and for the National executive.

Based on this problem, the National Director of Telecommunications and Technologies informed that several projects are being developed in the technology sector, such as the satellite "Angosat-2” and the entry of another telephone operator, aiming to diversify the market, without forgetting the international competition for the management of Angola Telecom.

"Several initiatives are underway to improve the Internet, as what we have is still not satisfactory. The Executive wants to see greater satisfaction at the level of communes where there is difficulty in terms of access to the telephone network or the Internet. The Government is working to make access and quality a fact with duly defined strategies for the entry of the new operator that will contribute to the improvement of the national network", said.
