The application Secret it started with such force that it aroused the curiosity of many users. A “social network” where we could remain anonymous. Complaining about everything that concerned us, asking for advice, telling secrets, without fear of the judgment of others.
The Secret quickly became a place of defamation and perversion. Since there was guaranteed anonymity, people took the opportunity to publish “less decent” photos, make dubious proposals… in short, a set of illegalities. This predicted that the network would not take long, so much so that in some countries, Brazil is a practical example, there was a blocking of the application.
In Angola the situation is no different, we see several “dubious” publications, but the user base is not so high, judging by the number of publications and comments.
On Wednesday the founder and project leader, David Bittow, came announce its end:
this is the most difficult decision of my life and it saddens me deeply. Unfortunately, the Secret no longer represents the vision I had when I started the company, so I believe it's the right decision for me, our investors and our team
The secret had secured an investment of 35 million USD which will now be returned to the financiers. The application has already been removed from the Google Play and App Store, in the coming months will be completely disabled.
Goodbye Secret, we will not miss it.
