[AfricaCom 2018] Angola Cables and Broadband Infraco sign memorandum of understanding

During the largest technology event in Africa, Angola Cables has partnered with Broadband Infraco. Together, companies are opening up a new opportunity for the arrival in South Africa of new content from the Angola World Cables network to thereby improve connectivity in South Africa.

The signing of a memorandum of understanding during AfricaCom 2018 will enable an optimized linking of international gaming, finance, scientific and educational content that arrives via the cables BAGS and WACS for Broadband Infraco's terrestrial infrastructure, accelerating access and enhancing the Internet experience on the African continent.

During AfricaCom 2018, the Angola Cables stand has attracted a lot of attention. SACS has been a highlight. The representatives of Angola Cables and Broadband Infraco spoke on the advantages of this agreement:

Andrew Matseke, CEO of Broadband Infraco, said the partnership is key in the development of digital connectivity in Africa. "Through the underwater networks of Angola Cables, SACS and Monet, Broadband Infraco will be able to share international traffic and content."

Broadband Infraco currently has 15.000 km of fiber network throughout South Africa, while Angola Cables operates a variety of international submarine networks.
