Africell the mobile network operator with more than 12 million customers in four African countries, has joined the industry-leading distributed denial of service (DDoS) protection solution stormwall to improve security on your networks.

Anti-DDoS technology provides protection across Africell's IT infrastructure in Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gambia and Sierra Leone, where the company already provides access to the Internet via 3G, LTE and 5G and is ranked as the number one company one in terms of quality of service by regulators.

StormWall's BGP network security solution ensures automatic protection of networks and detects DDoS attacks at an early stage and switches traffic to DDoS filters before the attack causes service to be unavailable.

The solution helps ensure the stable operation of IT networks and infrastructure, protects them from all known DDoS attacks at the OSI L3-L5 levels. This method of protection is aimed at telecommunications operators, ISPs, data centers and hosting companies, as well as corporate customers with their own autonomous systems.

“The safety of our customers is one of Africell's top priorities, which is why we are working with StormWall to take advantage of the most advanced protection systems available today. The company's experience is to provide the perfect solution to protect our networks from DDoS attacks. SormWall is helping Africell to ensure that we can continue to expand our business without fear of being the victim of a cyber attack, ”said Younes Chaaban, CTO of the Africell Group.

Ramil Khantimirov, CEO and co-founder of StormWall, added that the volume of traffic processed by Africell is enormous, therefore protection against DDoS attacks is one of the company's main tasks. “It was very important for us to gain Africell's trust and make our solution available guaranteeing a high level of protection of the company's resources. Our professional solutions provide effective measures against cybercriminals and we are happy to know that companies in Africa are aware of the need to use these protection methods. ”
