Africell with five million customers in Angola since the beginning of operations

A Africell announced today(07) that it already has more than five million customers throughout Angola, since the start of operations last April.

The number of customers was disclosed in an official note, sent to Lusa (via See Angola), where he also informed that the company appointed the Nigerian Godfrey Efeurhobo as the new Commercial Director of the group, with the objective of “accelerate its growth in Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo".

The new manager thus arrives at the company six months after the operator has launched its services in the country, where the statement emphasizes that Angola is a “of the most developed countries in Africa, where the communications sector has suffered decades of underinvestment".

"By offering fast, low-cost and reliable services, Africell has already been disruptive in the Angolan landscape, gaining more than 5 million customers since April 2022“, reads the statement.

Regarding the hiring of Godfrey Efeurhobo, Africell stresses that it comes to ensure that the operator is able to fully capitalize on the opportunity and continue to expand its coverage nationwide.

Cited in the press release, Ziad Dalloul, President and CEO of Africell, says that Godfrey joins the company at a crucial time, that is, when the company's portfolio includes two markets with notable growth potential, Angola and Congo .

Also in the publication, Africell stresses that in addition to the new operations in Angola, a major expansion of the network in DR Congo is in the pipeline, highlighting mainly the east of the country.
