Now we can complain: even Mount Everest has an 4G network!

Mount Everest

The improbable happened once again, the Huawei and China Telecom decided to take the fastest internet in the highest mountain in the world (All to see, is not it?)

Now climbers will be able to broadcast live from Mount Everest, if they have the strength and patience to do so. For those who have, they will have to thank the companies mentioned above, for having deployed LTE TDD technology, a 4G wireless technology that can reach speeds around 100 Mb / s, right at the top of the most famous hill in the world.

Remember that the mountain has 8848m and only in 2008 was installed 3G technology, much because of the olympics that took place in China, since the mountain was on the list of places where the Olympic torch would pass. Now, 5 years later we have this novelty that has not even spread to the most accessible places. In Africa, Movicel was the first to make its use, using ZTE technology, has already Unitel was not behind and has implemented this service, only in the province of Luanda (until latest information).

If you are living in a city that does not yet have a 4G network, you can use the expression “Even Mount Everest has and we do not !?

  1. Although companies such as unitel and Movicel have implemented the service, it is still common for network failure on the part of the two, still being 4G. It is sad that part of not having expanded to other provinces, because Angola is not Luanda and it is not only in Luanda that there are Internet users. 😀

    • Unfortunately Unitel and Movicel have not yet decided to expand 4G to all points.

Movicel started with 4G in Cabinda, already in Luanda and Benguela is getting the finishing touches. After that, they will probably present the business plan (which already exists, if you go through a store, Chamavo preferably, they sell the 4G router / modem with a plan).

Unitel has only in Luanda, but it has a commercial plan that has already been released, so much so that we officially tested Unitel's 4G network: http://www.menosfios.com/2013/01/angola-teste-de-cobertura-da-rede-unitel-4g/
