According to the latest information from the AngolaCables, a company that is working for the implementation of submarine cables in Angola, SACS is already on its way to the country, since the most important process for installing the cable in the ocean, called survey, has been completed. an x-ray of the sea floor.
New submarine cables are expected to connect Angola directly to Europe, the United States, Brazil and Africa, increasing data speed.
If in the past almost all communication between the continents was done through satellites, currently 99% of Internet traffic, telephone lines and TV signals go through submarine cables. They are what allow the Internet to be what it is today.
With the implementation of these submarine cables, major improvements are expected in Angola in the ICT sector and beyond. The project itself should bring down current Internet traffic prices since a single submarine cable to be deployed today is capable of delivering a capacity of at least six times the added capacity of all cables already installed.
