Angola Cables, announced on Monday (21 / 01) in Honolulu, United States of America, that the first South Atlantic Submarine Cable System (SACS) is 85% installed at sea, very close to reaching the Brazilian coast, State of Ceará, in Fortaleza.

According to a Antonio Nunes, CEO of Angola Cables, the company he runs is very close to the fulfillment of a dream, the construction of the first direct link between Angola and Brazil, a much more efficient route for communications between the African continent and the Americas, will also bring great benefits for the Asian continent and all countries that communicate with the destinations that are reached by the infrastructure of Angola Cables.

According to António Nunes, when the SACS is operational, there will be a significant improvement in communications between Angola, African countries and the Americas. The waiting time for communications, known as latency, will reduce five times, going from the current 350 milliseconds to just over 60 milliseconds.

SACS, Monet and WACS are the three submarine cable systems operated by Angola Cables, which connect four continents (South America, North America, Africa and Europe). Angola Cables runs Angonix, an Internet exchange point located in Luanda and the third largest in Africa.
