Angola Cables begins to install the link between Africa and South America

A Angola Cables will start installing the first connection between Africa and South America, with the launch of the submarine cable BAGS, from the Angolan coast, the next day 9 August, in Sangano, Quissama municipality.

The installation of SACS on the Angolan coast is an important milestone in the completion of this strategic project for Angola, in such a way that it represents a turning point in world digital communications, especially since it is the first direct link between the African and South American continents, a route faster and higher capacity.

The installation of SACS represents the realization of a dream, a development that reflects our ability to find solutions and overcome challenges, always having in mind the final objective, António Nunes, CEO of Angola Cables.

Investments in submarine cable systems, namely WACS, already operational, SACS and Monet and datacenters are creating not only information highways that will bring us closer to the major centers of digital content production and services but also important parts of the major international telecommunications circuits. The content produced in these regions and the international connectivity provided by submarine cables, according to António Nunes, could generate great economic benefits mainly for Angola, with great potential of attracting technological companies of the region that need high connectivity.

The launch event will be attended by the Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, José Carvalho da Rocha, governmental entities, operators of the national and international economic sector, as well as the shareholders and guests of the company.
