Angola Cables already have a Looking Glass

Almost four years after the start of the operation Angola Cables and the design of the IP network, and having been the first international investment to expand the network (POP of Angola) exactly one year ago, Angola Cables now has its Looking Glass.

What is Looking Glass?

In a nutshell, it is an Internet server (public network) in which any interested entity is able to obtain network routing information from a particular organization either in IPv4 as IPv6.

Looking Glass is a tool web based, which means that users in general can access the same through a Web page.

How to access Looking Glass?

To access the server on the Internet simply visit the link http://lg.angolacables.co.ao

Looking Glass features 3 basic commands, PING, TRACE and BGP:

What is the function of each?

  • BGP checks the AS-PATH (path traveled between the various operators or AS (autonomous system) to the desired destination. It also shows the networks that are being advertised as well as the route preference.
  • TRACE gives the information of all the jumps that occur in a search (pages, domains, IPs packages) from the origin to the destination.
  • PING gives response time information on the transmission of a packet's reach from source to destination (latency).
