A Angola Cables won the award for Best Innovation Service in Africa at the Capacity Africa trade fair, held in Kampala, Uganda.
The Angolan telecommunication company, which has shown its dynamism, its capacity as well as its great talent in terms of technological innovation, has presented its innovative IP-based solutions together with its innovation partner DE-CIX, the world's largest Internet Exchange operator.
Angola Cables, which already has a fiber optic connection project that will leave Brazil for Angolan territory, has shown extremely positive results and within these implemented solutions that differ absolutely from several that already exist, IP solutions offer a maximum of 98,4 , 4 ms from Luanda to Lisbon on IPv6 and IPvXNUMX MPLS services on a carrier-class IP network. For all countries between Angola and Portugal, there is a gain of 50 ms latency for Lisbon at least. For Angola, the digital distance gain for Lisbon is already reducing by more than 60 percent, according to information from the Angolan company.
Another innovation that Angola Cables presented was the content in the SADC region (Southern Africa Development Community). Angonix, the fastest neutral Internet traffic exchange platform in Luanda, Angola, went into operation in 2015 to improve the transformation of the digital economy in Angola and the SADC region. The exchange improves the resilience and robustness of the Internet in Angola and the SADC IP network, providing reliable connectivity in that region.
