[Angola] More Unitel Campaign: Did you also get the call?

Yesterday (26/09) I received a call at least “unusual” from Unitel's Customer Support (19192), inviting me to join the “Mais Unitel” campaign, which consists of charging only 1 UTT / min from the second minute for all calls within the Unitel network.

As the young woman explained to me more or less friendly Customer Service, when joining the campaign will be discounted only 1 UTT for each minute of conversation after the first 3UTT of the initial minute for Unitel - Unitel calls, I must remember that in normal tariff from Unitel the discount from the second minute is 2,50UTT at normal time (7-22h) or 1,50UTT at economic time (22-7h).

As the activation of this campaign is free, so I accepted the invitation and the young woman informed me that an SMS would be sent to confirm the activation of the campaign to my number. A few seconds later I received the message in the image below.

more unitel campaign

Later, I decided to take a look at the Unitel website and I found the tariff table for the “Mais Unitel” campaign, but I was intrigued by not seeing any advertising in the media and not even on Unitel's Facebook page, I haven't heard reports from other people who have received the same call. So I decided to test the veracity of the campaign, for that, I made a 10min: 15sec call to a Unitel number in non-economic hours and analyzed the balance variation, doing a “Before” and “After”. The result was a difference of 12,84UTT, that is 3UTT of the first minute and a further 9,84UTT of the 9min and 15sec that followed. As you can see in the image below, the campaign works!

more unitel campaign works

In conclusion, the campaign More Unitel is tested and approved, if you have not yet received the “mysterious call” stay tuned or call Customer Support to request the free activation of the campaign. This is certainly one more blow to the Unitel Vs Movicel battle, in response to the new plans that Movicel recently launched.

If they continue like this it will be us (users) who will win with the soap opera “Telmo and Celmo”.

  1. Because the problem is getting to the minutes after 2 without the call dropping. Unitel should, however, gain shame in the face and stop charging 3 Utts for a call that fell after 5 seconds.
