Angola must develop strategies to train young people in digitalization, creating a university for new technologies, in the opinion of the president of the Industrial Association of Angola (AIA), José Severino.

Speaking at the end of the public consultation session of the Angola Digital Acceleration Project (PADA), an initiative by the Angolan Government that is being implemented in partnership with the World Bank, the director defended the universalization of skills, also suggesting that companies linked to new technologies to create an association, with support from the World Bank (WB), with the purpose of developing a project to create a university focused on technological sciences, with the aim of meeting the great challenges of digitalization in the country.

"Universities will do what they can, especially because they have the disciplines in this matter, but we want a more comprehensive exercise, which would be to create a university of new technologies”, said the President of the AIA.

BUT: Angosat-2 will enable the digitalization of the national education system

José Severino also added that it is important for the country to implement the Digital Acceleration Project, in order to recover and overcome the current technological situation.

The official also said that the initiative to create a university “is useful and fruitful, given the need to accelerate the country's growth”, and, in this particular case, it would be a help in solving some structural problems existing in society.

"Today we have new technologies, and this tool will help us get out of the crisis faster”, Finished.
