Angola already receives a third of the satellite signal from the Russian compensation. The information was released on Friday (21), in Luanda, by the director of the Office of Management of the National Space Program (GGPEN), Zolana João.

Zolana João said that during these months the telecommunication services were being redirected to the compensation signal. "In this scope Angola is being compensated with signal of two satellites, being the AM7 that sends signal in the band C and the E3B that sends signal for the KU band, is one of Russia and another of Europe until it is delivered to the Angolan authorities the Angosat2".

These compensations are intended to address the problems Angosat-1, in the light of the contract that obliges the Russian side to assume them in full, including the reservations made by those interested in purchasing the signal. And in turn, they translate into the allocation, at no cost to Angola, of 216 Megahertz in Banda C, and 216 Megaheartz in Banda Ku, while Angosat-2 is under construction, to support all necessary services.

This compensation resulted from the failure of Angosat-1, which despite being in orbit does not present the parameters for which it was contracted. In order to avoid damages to the Angolan party, the contractual clauses were imposed, which imposes on the Russian side the obligation to compensate for damages.

Angosat-1 would enter commercial operations in April. Built from 2012, following an agreement signed between Angola and Russia in 2009, it cost 360 millions of dollars to the coffers of the Angolan state.
