Approximately two years ago it was announced that the Angolan Higher Education would feature the creation of an online national scientific repository, to give better and greater visibility to the scientific creation of Angolan authors, according to the words of the Minister of Higher Education, Science Technology and Innovation (MESCTI), Maria do Rosário Bragança.
After this time, the project was finally completed, as recently the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESCTI) launched the Angolan Open Access Repository (RANAA) to permanently store, organize, disseminate and disseminate scientific production produced in the country. The repository was financed by French expertise.
In practice, the OBJECTIVE of the repository is to guarantee free access to the content, in full or in part, of the intellectual production developed by higher education institutions, teachers, researchers and students in Angola and the diaspora.
What types of documents will the repository store?
The type of documents that can be archived include scientific articles, technical reports, digital and printed scientific magazines, scientific and academic books, master's theses and dissertations, software codes, bibliographic data sheets, images, audio files , video files, teaching material, among other content.
According to the operating guidelines of RANAA, the archiving process occurs as the author of the article, dissertation, thesis, among others, submits it to RANAA and this archiving will only be possible when the work is completed and defended (in the case of final works), or published (in the case of articles and books).
What is needed to archive in the repository?
However, self-archiving will be done by creating an investigator profile on RANAA. It is important to note that all deposits must be made within a maximum period of 60 days after the production (Publication in a scientific journal or book, defense of work and public presentation) of the material.
