Angola at the “front line” in the implementation of 4G services on the African continent

Angola has been one of the African countries in the “front line” in the implementation of 4G services on the mainland, according to the administrator of the National Bank of Angola, Pedro Castro e Silva.

The manager who was speaking during the last session of the “Tech Trend”, organized by the international consultancy Deloitte, presented data from the Angolan Institute of Communications (INACOM), informing that our country was just behind Nigeria, which it adopted in 2007, since Angola was the second country in Africa to move to 4G, this in 2011, which in his opinion shows that the country has been at the forefront in terms of technology.

BUT: North African countries have the best 4G coverage

"This justifies the increase in users of “Mobile Money” accounts and makes us think that it will continue to grow”, said Pedro Castro e Silva.

Still in his speech, the BNA Administrator did not fail to stress that Angola's weakness is the low rate of people using the internet in Angola. That's exactly 21 out of every 100 people. Still low numbers that place Angola at the bottom of the continent's table.
