Angola will not be part of the World Programming Championship

Recently Angola qualifies for first time for African Programming Championship, the three Angolan teams qualified for the African and Arab University Programming Championship were in 83rd place, when they solved only two of the 12 recommended exercises, and were left out of the Russia 2020 World Cup, but received the “West of Africa".

According to the director of the Angolan University Programming Contest (AoCPC), Valerian Marcolino, Angola was represented by ISUTIC's “The Winners”, “Isptec” and “Taskforce” teams, also from ISUTIC. In the competition, 12 problems are presented to the teams, all in English, on a timed platform. Mathematical problems are solved with four (4) programming languages, namely C, C ++, Java and Python.

Angolan teams won the regional in September, which enabled them to participate in the “Africa and Arab Collegiate Programming Championship (ACPC) ”, held this weekend in Egypt, among more than 100 Universities in Africa, the qualifiers will, in June 2020, at the World Cup in Russia. Angola has participated in regional competitions for four years, since 2016, and has only just qualified for the African competition, created in 1979.
