The Minister of State and Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, Adão de Almeida, is participating in the “Summit for Action on Artificial Intelligence”, a high-level event promoted by the French Government, which has been taking place since Monday at the emblematic Grand Palais in Paris.
The Summit, in which Adão de Almeida participates on behalf of President João Lourenço, brings together important figures from the global political, technological and business scene, with emphasis on the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the Vice-President of the United States, JD Vance, and several CEOs of the largest global technology companies.
Yesterday was dedicated to interaction and technical approach. Today, the high-level event is scheduled, with the opening and closing sessions to be led by French President Emmanuel Macron.
The Summit takes place in a context of exploring opportunities for the adoption of public policies and regulation of the use of Artificial Intelligence in Angola, an increasingly relevant topic today.
On the sidelines of the meeting, President Emmanuel Macron hosted a dinner at the Elysee Palace for Heads of State, leaders of international organizations and government representatives from several countries.
The Angolan delegation includes the Angolan ambassador to France, Guilhermina Prata, the director of the Institute for Administrative Modernization (IMA), Meick Afonso, and staff from the Civil House of the President of the Republic.
