The Minister of the Interior Ângelo Veiga Tavares, defended this Friday the implementation of a platform that allows the granting of an online visa, and an advanced passenger identification system, at a time when the country starts to implement agreements with the South Africa e Mozambique for exemption from visas in ordinary passports.

The government official made this statement during his opening speech of “XVI Extended Consultative Council of the Migration and Foreigners Service ” (SME), which takes place precisely on the day the reciprocal visa exemption regime for South African and Mozambican citizens begins to apply.

According to Ângelo Veiga Tavares, the creation of a platform that allows the granting of an online visa is a mechanism that must be dealt with quickly. He considered it important to urgently implement the advanced passenger identification system, which involves the sending of passenger lists to the authorities by air carriers, so that these openings that are now being made can also have due control.
