Angola will push for the elaboration of affirmative policies and the expansion of investments in projects linked to Telecommunications, Information and Communication Technologies, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça.

Speaking of XI Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Communications of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), which took place in Luanda, the country's capital, the Secretary stressed that the country has created affirmative policies to guarantee greater access to vulnerable groups to digital services, whether internet, mobile telephony, information or communication media.

On the theme “CPLP Communications Challenges in the Digital Age”, the event reaffirmed the commitment to the pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the framework of the successful implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, namely in the Communications sector.

This XI meeting reiterated the role of digital solutions in eradicating poverty and promoting prosperity and its contribution to advances in all dimensions of sustainable development, making economic, social and environmental benefits reach everyone, leaving no one behind. back.

It also considered the guidelines contained in the Strategic Vision of the CPLP 2016 – 2026, which encourages the deepening of cooperation between the Member States, through networking and the development of programs and contents in the Portuguese language within the framework of Information and Communication Technologies ( ICT)

Another highlight was the approach that the Communications sector is of paramount importance to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the services provided by the State and that it enhances opportunities for cooperation and political concertation for the economic and social development of the CPLP.
