The ANGOSAT-2 could be launched between April or May, guarantees the Russian ambassador to Angola, Vladimir Tararov, in an interview with Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

According to what the Russian diplomat revealed, his country will launch the satellite within two months Angosat-2 and that the initial difficulties have already been overcome and that with the entry into operation of the satellite, it is believed that Angola will see improvements in various sectors, such as telecommunications, telemedicine and other services.

"In this year before the elections we would like to launch (referring to the Angosat-2 satellite), this was foreseen in our agreement for March, but it seems that we are going to delay one or two months because of those sanctions, because many foreign components in this satellite”, said Vladimir Tararov.

This information comes from the same idea as the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), Manuel Homem, whowhich in early January informed that the development of Angosat-2 currently continues without constraints, and that Angosat-2 will improve the level of coverage of telecommunications services made available to citizens.

In the same press coverage, and regarding the possible problems in the development process of the Angolan satellite, the Minister said that there is no constraint, so far, and where he noted that the teams dedicated to the project are committed to complying with the schedule, which foresees, among other points, the completion and launch of the satellite, which could take place in the first half of this year.

"The technical teams are committed to ensuring that, within the established schedule (first half of 2022), we can have the satellite completed and in orbit,” said the minister.
