[AngoTIC 2018] Secretary of State for Information Technologies promises support for Startups

On the second day of the AngoTIC 2018, the main CCTA conference room hosted representatives from various members of the startup ecosystem in Angola.

The panel called “Startups and Innovation, ICT as a support.” , had the following members:

  • Manuel Man - Secretary of State for Information Technologies
  • Erickson Mvezi - CEO of Tupuca
  • Peter Beirão - CEO of Appy Saúda
  • Sarchel Necésio - CEO of Platina Line
  • Carlos Jaime - CEO of Buka
  • View All - Executive Director of INFRASAT

During the panel each representative of the Startups mentioned above had the opportunity to present it, share how he managed to overcome the financial problems, in a country where there is no special legislation for Startups.

Secretary of State for Information Technologies, Manuel Homem, went further and spoke about the need to end the difficulty of access to technology for young people in Angola.

Manuel Man also revealed the intention of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology (MTTI) to of the startups that exist in the country.

The executive member kept bringing good news and revealed some more projects aimed at Startups:

  1. The Living House Project - To provide legal guidance and follow up on startups.
  2. Space of Co-Working in all media outlets in the country.
  3. Datacenters of the state may give away free space for Startups.

The secretary of state also called on companies to interact with Startups in the market in order to find cheaper solutions.
