At the end of 2015, the largest group of hackers and activists in the world “Anonymous" informed that attacked Angolan government websites, in protest of the release of political prisoners, and freedom of expression, in the operation OpLusofonia, LiberdadeJa.

Until long ago it seems that the situation had been overcome, but after the condemnation of young people involved in the case dubbed “15 + 2” was known, the same group went back to attacking Angolan government websites, leaving them off the air for minutes.

In this new attack, around two dozen Internet pages of the central government, ministries, provincial governments and Angolan public entities were inaccessible during the day, the group called "Anonymous Portugal" claimed to be an attack.

Among the pages that were inaccessible on Tuesday were the central government website (www.governo.gov.ao), the secretary of the council of ministers (www.scm.gov.ao) and the Ministry of Health ( www.minsa.gov.ao), among others. which appears in the image above.

With these events, we believe that the IT managers of the Angolan state's websites should be on high alert.

What is the lesson that IT departments in Angola should draw from these attacks?

Nowadays it is believed that in the IT departments of Angolan companies, not always there is qualified personnel, ideally, to have at least one expert in each key area of IT in which the department encounters more challenges, from Programmers, Helpdesk, Web Manager and the most essential: a Network Security Technician (no matter how small the company).

From the moment we have a web page on the air, a server on which information is archived, one should be very careful about security, and in my view the Angolan Government sites are not very secure and there are not many trained personnel to face an Anonymous Dimension Group.

Will an attack of this size repeat itself again?
