The focus on training young people in the areas of Telecommunications, Information Technologies, Meteorology and, more recently, in the Space area is already beginning to bear fruit, according to the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Oliveira.

The government official emphasizes the fact that Angola is the leader of the technical team studying the operationalization of a Satellite Sharing System for Southern Africa, responding for SADC countries to the International Telecommunications Union in Space matters.

Therefore, a project management office was created in Luanda, which aims to standardize processes related to the SADC Satellite Sharing Program and facilitate the sharing of resources, methodologies and tools.

The focus of the work is to define and maintain standards for managing projects in the SADC Satellite Sharing Program, such as identification and analysis of orbital resources, interference analysis and technical assistance in frequency coordination.

The project management office will prepare documentation to guide the action plan and develop metrics on management practice and execution. Therefore, it will monitor and report, at the highest level, the progress of the different actions of the SADC project, in ways that promote strategic decision-making.

The team created is made up of members of the SADC Expert Committee, including directors and technicians from the National Space Program Management Office (GGPEN), gives INFRASAT and INACOM.

Angola's position gains even more prominence with the Angosat-2, an Angolan communications satellite that entered the final testing phase at the beginning of the month, before starting to provide its telecommunications services throughout the country at competitive prices.
