Apple has officially introduced a new generation of its AirPods wireless headphones, which come with active noise cancellation technology – the first time in an entry-level model.
The fourth generation of AirPods are equipped with H2 processors and, among the new features, there is an improvement in sound quality and personalized 'Spatial Sound'
The case/charger is now equipped with USB-C, with Apple indicating that a battery life of 30 hours is expected. This case/charger also now supports wireless charging.
The introduction of active noise cancellation means that there’s also a Transparency mode and an Adaptive mode that can reduce noise as soon as a louder area is detected. There’s also a mode that can detect when you’re involved in a conversation, reducing the audio volume automatically.
Apple also announced that it is working on a new feature for the AirPods Pro 2 that will allow users to take a hearing test. The company says that this assessment is certified and will not only be used to create a specific profile for you, but also to store the data in the Health app.
