Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is getting ready to start integrating its own screens into the brand's mobile devices, as of 2024. The measure will be a way of reducing dependence on third parties and increasing control over the production processes related to the equipment placed on the market .

The news is being advanced by Bloomberg, which cites people close to the process. According to the same source, the brand's smart watches in higher-end models will debut the new option. In addition to the Apple Watch, other equipment from the manufacturer may include its own brand screens, including the iPhone.

In this transition, which will reduce Apple's dependence on partners such as Samsung or LG, which manufacture most of the screens used in the brand's devices, there will also be a change in technology. At the moment, Apple is taking advantage of OLED technology, it is said that it will use microLED technology.

BUT: Apple intends to launch new MacBook by the end of the year

This intention to change has not yet been confirmed by Apple, but it is in line with what the company has been doing in other areas, such as processors. In 2020, Apple announced that it would exchange Intel processors for its own brand chips and that is what it has been doing in different product lines.

In November it was also reported that the company was negotiating new semiconductor supply contracts in the United States and Europe, to reduce its dependence on manufacturers located in Asia. A month later Tim Cook confirmed that Apple will start buying semiconductors from TSMC in the United States.
