Apple sold more tablets than Samsung on 2017

According to IDC data, the Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), was the company that sold the most tablets in 2017, numbers higher than Samsung and Amazon together. But global sales of tablets fell by 6,5%, which totaled 163,5 million units.

In 2017, Apple sold 43,8 million iPads, the result of a 3% growth compared to 2016, Samsung sold 24,9 million tablets, while Amazon sold 16,7 million. Together, the two companies total 41,6 million units, a balance of 2,2 million lower than Apple's result.

It is worth noting that IDC includes both conventional tablets and detachable PCs in the data, that is, that can be separated from the keyboard. The figures also show a trend that could end the change in position between Samsung and Amazon. Sales of tablets by the South Korean company fell 6,4% compared to 2016, while the American company registered an increase of 38% in the same period.

Huawei is in fourth place, with 12,5 million units, had a timid approach in the tablet market and detachable, according to IDC, but managed to grow 28% compared to the previous year.
