WhatsappO WhatsApp has an appeal that allows the sending of GIF animated. The feature, available in the beta version of the application, works only for videos made by the user for now.

The Less Thin Wire brings to our readers an explanation of how to use this tool in the WhatsApp social network. Do you know how to use GIF?

First let's realize what GIF concept (Graphics Interchange Format), which in Portuguese means “Graphic Interchange Format” is an image format widely used on the Internet, and which was launched in 1987 by CompuServe, to provide a color image format in place of the RLE format, which was just black and White. One of the most striking features of GIF is interleaving, which stores the lines of the drawing out of order in order to allow a partially downloaded image to be recognized even before it is fully downloaded. With that the user can cancel the upload when he realizes that it is not what he wanted.

Let's then figure out how to use GIF in WhatsApp:

To send a GIF to your contacts, you need to touch the clip, in the upper right corner of the conversation, select the option “Gallery” and then “Record a video”. After filming, you should proceed with the upload and touch the camcorder icon, which appears in the upper right corner. When you do this, it becomes an icon where it in turn indicates that the image will be sent as a GIF. When you send the images you have recorded with your smarphone, your contact will receive an animated GIF.

Note that the feature is only available in the beta version, for Android applications only, and can only be viewed for a contact who is using that version.
