AROTEC and Sinopec Angola launch the “Little Engineer” program

3638

Robotics and engineering are reaching the hands of young Angolans in a free and transformative way. The program “Little Engineer”, promoted by AROTEC in partnership with Sinopec Angola, is empowering new generations to respond to the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution — and putting Angola on the African innovation map.

With two areas: Robotics for young people aged 8 to 16, and Petroleum Engineering for those aged 17 to 21, the program has already trained 300 students in 2024 and expects to reach 320 in 2025. With a strong practical component, participants develop skills in robot assembly, programming, geoscience, and energy transition.

Furthermore, 40% of vacancies are reserved for girls, promoting gender inclusion in STEM fields.

What comes next?

The 2025 edition is scheduled to close on September 1st, but the future is already under construction. AROTEC plans to:

  • Throw traveling mobile laboratories;

  • Create one hybrid teaching platform for the whole country;

  • Expand the number of internships and scholarships with support from Sinopec.
