It started yesterday (30) 8th National Conference on Science and Technology (CNCT), an event that brings together Angolan and foreign researchers, as well as young exhibitors from various Higher Education institutions with their innovative projects.

For the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, who gave the opening speech at the event, actions for scientific productivity in the country must be increased, while at the same time recognizing Angola's advances in creating a National Ecosystem of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Esperança da Costa highlighted that the current government is focused on making the system more suitable for its ultimate purpose, which is to contribute, in a decisive way, to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Agenda 2063 of the African Union (AU).

In relation to increasing scientific productivity in the country, the minister highlighted that the Executive will reinforce Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with the training of scientific researchers and technical support staff.

Esperança da Costa announced, for 2024, more teachers and scientific researchers with the admission to HEIs and the National Center for Scientific Research of 923 staff for these special careers, through the public entrance competition, to be opened soon.
