The largest data collection operation on the population started today (19) completely digitally and will continue for 30 days.
Denominated CENSUS 2024, the collection of information will be done by tablets with a data collection application – CAPI, resulting from the update of the cartography in progress until the end of 2023, revealed the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
The first people to be counted were citizens in vulnerable situations. Yesterday, during the launch ceremony, the coordinator of the Multisectoral Commission to Support the Census urged citizens to join the process by answering questions from more than 79 agents.
Francisco Furtado said that, with the census, the Executive will be able, for example, to know how many Angolans live in poverty and develop public policies for the well-being of the population.
On the other hand, the authorities call on all citizens to collaborate in the Census and that the act of registering and providing information should be seen as an act of citizenship and patriotism.
They also recommend that the population should provide truthful information to Census surveyors so that the data collected allows the Government to define policies that are more suited to the real needs of the population.
In turn, the National Police created a Strategic Plan for the 2024 General Population and Housing Census that covers all phases of the operation, involving 16 national police officers and Defense and Security bodies.
