Google I / O began yesterday, the great conference of developers of the Google. Before the conference, Google had already begun to whet the curiosity of mere mortals like us, presenting the new high-resolution camera capable of capturing “gigapixel” images, called Art Camera.

This super camera was created and developed by the Google Cultural Institute in order to photograph works of art in museums around the world for later preservation and cultural continuity. The only 20 Art Cameras were not made for the masses, that is, nothing selfies in high resolution.

The camera shoots inch by inch and is so powerful that it zooms to the point where the brush strokes on the canvas become clear.
Once captured the images in extreme resolution, they are sent to Google's servers and stored in a process that can take hours or even days.

So far, more than 1000 works of art have been stored, cataloged from different collections around the world.
