The Portuguese security forces, specifically the Judiciary Police (PJ), are currently following a lead from a Russian hacker, in the case of the cyberattack on Vodafone, adding that the same hacker will have offered illegal access to the system of a Portuguese operator, reveals the Express.
According to the Portuguese newspaper, the Russian hacker announced, that is, on January 24, that he was looking for buyers for illegal access to the computer system of a Portuguese telecommunications company, with revenues between US$1 and US$4 billion.
The hacker allegedly made the announcement on the Russian online forum Exploit.in, with paid access, where hackers commonly transact data and information, most of the time illegally.
"I will listen to your price proposals”, wrote the Russian hacker, proposing as a starting point 2500 dollars (about one million three hundred thousand kwanzas).

The bid was identified by an American cyber intelligence company, Mandiant, which usually monitors this type of closed forums, as well as transactions and threats on the so-called darkweb.
A source heard by 'Expresso', responsible for investigating the latest cyberattacks in Portugal, including Vodafone, confirmed to beinvestigating Russian hacker's message”, as a clue to the latest cases.
It should be noted that in recent days there has been news that there are several suspicions that Russian hackers were behind the most recent computer attacks, both in Europe and in Portugal, such as the one by Vodafone.
Cybersecurity analysts also point out that there is a common pattern in recent incidents, contrary to what has been observed so far: no ransom demands🇧🇷 The only objective is to destroy or condition the critical infrastructure of States.
In this sense, they suspect that hackers are “state agents in a cyberwar action”, pointing to Russia, in yet another movement of the hybrid war that has been under way in the tension with NATO over Ukraine.
