IPad Battery Explodes at an Apple Store

It is not a habit to see Apple devices in trouble, but information has been circulated that puts Apple in the dark, especially as three of its employees have been affected by the incident.

Three Apple employees were treated for minor injuries after an iPad battery exploded in an Amsterdam store. The three officials are believed to have breathed the vapors released when the battery caught fire.

The incident happened on 19's August 2018 day, and led to the Leidseplein in Amsterdam to be evacuated and closed. Firefighters were called in to respond to the incident. The Amsterdam Fire Brigade tweeted who had witnessed the incident and three people had been treated for respiratory problems.

What was Apple's response to the issue?

The company said that it is now "investigating" the incident. He added that: “His team was able to evacuate customers quickly and safely and the store reopened shortly after".

A Dutch source said store employees initially dealt with the iPad on fire by having it placed in a bucket full of sand. This allegedly suppressed the fire, but not before some of the potentially harmful irritants were released

Has anything like this ever happened?

One of Apple's well-known news sites 9to5mac, claims to have seen more incidents of similar crashes since the electronics company had started the iPhone battery replacement program. Apple began the replacement initiative after being criticized for slowing down the older iPhones whose batteries were aging.
