BayQi begins new Digital era with the “Commerce + Inclusive Digital Neighborhoods” Project in Luanda

A BayQi, a financial app that allows you to send, request money and make payments online, has ushered in an acceleration of financial and digital inclusion with the launch of the innovative project “Commerce + Inclusive Digital Neighborhoods“. The project fits into the National Development Plan (PDN) and the Informal Economy Reconversion Program, aiming to transform neighborhoods in the province of Luanda into digital communities through technological innovations.

The event, held in the Zé Dú Mediateca Auditorium, in Cazenga, brought together government authorities, representatives of international organizations, business leaders and members of the community to celebrate this pioneering initiative that aims to promote digital and financial inclusion in Luanda's neighborhoods.

Francisco Sudré, Deputy Administrator for the Financial Area of ​​the Municipal Administration of Cazenga, praised the initiative and highlighted the importance of choosing the municipality to launch this financial inclusion project, highlighting that digital payment services can reduce the incidence of theft. Generoso de Almeida, President of the Board of Directors of Banco BIR, congratulated the BayQi for the initiative, highlighting that the project represents a certification of financial inclusion, a widely debated topic.

 

BayQi CEO, Fátima Almeida, expressed confidence in the success of the project, highlighting that where there are challenges, there are also opportunities. Fátima believes that more people will adopt and use the BayQi application because it is simple and practical. She also emphasized the importance of support from Municipal Administrations, Youth and Student Associations, and churches to better raise awareness in communities.

The “Commerce + Inclusive Digital Neighborhoods” project will transform neighborhoods in Luanda into digital communities with the BayQi Wallet. By 2026, it aims to reach more than 10% of the Angolan population and raise awareness of one million traders, focusing on training, financial inclusion and local digitalization. The project focuses on three pillars: People, Companies and the State, empowering, training people and training traders.
