The President of Brazil signed an agreement for the construction of the Aerospace Technology Park in Salvador, capital of the Brazilian state of Bahia, with an initial investment of 650 million reais. Lula da Silva participated in the signing of the partnership agreement signed by the Government, through the Ministry of Defense and the Air Force Command, with the state of Bahia and Senai Cimatec.

"Coming here to announce the launch of the Technological Park is not just anything. We must understand that we were placed in the world to be stubborn, to prove that nothing is impossible.”, said the Brazilian President in a speech cited by Lusa.

In addition to technical courses, the park will offer specializations in Aeronautical Engineering and master's degrees in innovative technologies in sectors such as aeronautics and aerospace, according to a statement from the Brazilian Presidency. In her speech, Lula da Silva highlighted that Brazil “It has to be given a chance because it is too big to be treated like a small country. This country has extraordinary potential and could already establish itself as the fifth largest economy in the world, but there are those who insist on going backwards".

The Brazilian Head of State also stated the importance of investing in new universities and technological centers in the Brazilian Northeast, a region affected by poverty, and assessed that the project could stimulate the country's growth and generate jobs.

"There will be no jobs if there is no investment in technology, whether in industry, commerce or agriculture”, said Lula da Silva.

In addition to the courses, the location will house advanced research centers in the aerospace area, through associations with companies, such as the Brazilian Embraer, the third largest aircraft manufacturer in the world, and the Italian company Leonardo.
