The month of March is starting well in terms of Information Technologies and Entrepreneurship for the population of Cabinda. After information about the first arrival of the event Startup Weekend in the northernmost province of the country, now there is more good news ...

In order to promote activities that aim to contribute actively to the growth of the Information Technology sector in Angola, starting with Cabinda, the Chiowa Hub, will implement the first edition of the “COMMUNITY COMPUTING ”. This is a technological and free education program that aims to promote digital inclusion, guaranteeing needy communities access to new information technologies.

In this first edition, the program will take place in several events taking place on March 27 at Colégio Barão Puna, on March 28 at the Evangelical Church of Angola - Ecclesiastical Region of ngoio, and on March 30 at the College Boo and Sons, where they will be introduced through bootcamps interactive the following topics:

  1. Introduction to Programming Logic
  2. Informatics in the user Optica
  3. Introduction to Computer Networks.

It is worth remembering that digital inclusion has become an important indicator in the development of any country, and Angola currently with more than 30 million inhabitants, has about 17% (5 Million) of the population making constant use of the Internet, more than 13 million using mobile phones, data that demonstrate the need to encourage digital inclusion as an opportunity for knowledge growth, creation and exposure of innovative ideas, in addition to encouraging sustainability and efficient communication between people.

  1. Good… I think it is a good initiative, but it will be a great fight because it is known that the Internet in the country is still very expensive, that is, it is a luxury. Initiatives to use technologies without Internet does not work 🤷‍♂️
