Information has emerged that the cable SACS was already 46% complete, since the study of the cable route was being concluded, it lasted over a month and a half and required the participation of about 50 technicians on board the vessel.
SACS, which is expected to start operating from 2018, also moves to new phases. Angola Cables has just completed the most important process for cable installation in the ocean, the Survey (radiography of the sea floor). And it has already begun the transport and loading of the cable to the end of the Angolan coast. The occasion represents an important milestone in the development of one of Angola's most important global projects.
With the Survey Angola Cables can ensure that SACS will be deployed in the most appropriate route, avoiding points that can damage it. The completion of the Survey produced information that is allowing the final fabrication of the cable.
Currently, the cable is leaving the factory in the direction of Angola for its installation. This significantly marks the start of the underwater installation and a step closer to completing the SACS. As for the construction of the same, it is being done by NEC, in Japan. And Angola Cables hired the Ocean Specialists, Inc (OSI) to supervise the cable construction process to ensure that the highest quality levels are taken into account in the execution of the work.
