Angolan banks will start to issue multicaixa cards with acceptance outside the country, based on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Interbank Services Company (EMIS) and MasterCard.
Signed last Wednesday, the MoU thus marks a partnership between the two institutions, in order to allow the issuance of multibrand debit payment cards, Multicaixa/Mastercard, for use in Angola and abroad.

According to what was revealed, the partnership will allow the coexistence of two brands on a single payment card, issued by Angolan Commercial Banks, which means that whenever the multi-brand debit card is used in the national territory it will be considered as a “card”. debit MULTICAX“, and conversely, whenever it is used abroad, it will be considered a “Mastercard debit card”, and all operations will always be linked to the holder's payment account.
Therefore, the multi-brand card will allow transactions, that is, payments and withdrawals in cash, whether in the national territory or abroad, thus having the advantage of being universally accepted, which will provide its holder who is abroad with a payment instrument that is more comfortable to use.
