Luanda Science Center with free entry to celebrate opening

O Luanda Science Center (CCL) There are free visits throughout the month of January, in order to disseminate the qualities and functioning of the institution. During this period, some invited institutions will visit the exhibitions in groups of up to 30 people.

According to what was revealed by the editorial staff of MenosFios, the CCL aims to encourage the culture of science, through the valorization of citizens' scientific and technological knowledge, and has a variety of interactive equipment, such as the Planetarium, the large format cinema and attractive exhibition wings.

The infrastructure that houses the Center, the former Soap Factory, despite restructuring at the highest level, maintains the main facade of the building, in order to preserve the architectural features and the memory of the place.

Initially designed to house a museum, it gained new dynamics in the 2000s, evolving into a Science Center, with a dynamic and interactive space, where experimentation is predominant, with a view to stimulating curiosity, inspiring future generations, in particular student. Right at the entrance to the Center, the visitor's attention is drawn to the remains (pieces) of the old Soap and Oil Factory, which have resisted time and vandalization, serving as living testimony to the history of the place, which today houses the CCL.

In addition to the small garden and the estate, the benches and the imposing baobab tree, surrounded by colorful flowers, bring the place to life and draw the eye to the Secular House, connected to the Butterfly Garden.

The CCL also aims to boost scientific and technological knowledge in Angolan civil society, according to the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Maria do Rosário Bragança.
