The CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai, believes that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is deeper than electricity or fire and will have a greater impact than these two discoveries. In an interview, Mr Pichai described the importance of this technological breakthrough and highlighted the challenge of full inclusion of women in the sector.
According to Sundar Pichai, we should not fear the advance of Artificial Intelligence, but rather work alongside it to bring more and more improvements to us and even to eradicate diseases such as the various types of cancer. Pichai points out that artificial intelligence will be responsible “by some of the greatest advances we are about to see".
AI such as fire can also harm or kill people. We have to learn the benefits it gives us and limit their disadvantages, said Sundar Pichai.
Pichai's speech goes totally against the beliefs of the CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, which strongly supports that artificial intelligence could eradicate human life on Earth once and for all if we continue to develop increasingly advanced cognitive systems for machines.
