Check Point Research: Trickbot is the most used malware by cybercriminals

A Check Point Research released its latest report from Global Threat Index, comprising the month of October 2021, where he revealed that the Trickbot is the malware most used by cyber-criminals in recent times, and where it was also revealed that the sectors of education and research are preferred by criminals to attack.

O Trickbot is a modular botnet and banking trojan, which has been at the top of hackers' most frequent malware list for the past few months, where it has affected 4% of organizations worldwide, while the “Apache HTTP Server Directory Traversal” is now one of the top ten vulnerabilities exploited by these same criminals.

It should be noted that the Trickbot can steal financial details, account credentials and personally identifiable information, as well as spread laterally within a network and drop ransomware. Since the capture of Emotet last January, trickbot became the most used malware, having climbed the scale five more times.
