CheckPoint. There are Netflix accounts for sale for 1200 kwanzas on the Dark Web

According to the CheckPoint, numerous illicit companies selling Netflix subscriptions have been identified in Dark Web. Investigators discovered Telegram channels affiliated with these cybercriminal portals that offer access to Netflix's monthly premium plan for just 190 Indian rupees, i.e. just over 1.200 kwanzas. These channels promoteeffectiveness and legitimacy of full access” to attract potential buyers.

According to the security company, most of these accounts are obtained from compromised credentials or breached accounts. As a result, cybercriminals can offer significantly reduced prices, making full profits without incurring any costs.

BUT: Netflix. Now it will be easier to find your favorite series

If you are a customer of Netflix, to ensure the security of your account CheckPoint recommends the following:

  • Long and diverse passwords: Increase the complexity of your Netflix password by using a combination of 14 to 16 characters with multiple letters (upper and lower case), symbols and numbers.
  • Memorable but hard to guess: Avoid using personal data such as birthdays, first or family names or easily detectable information. What may be easy for the user may also be accessible for cybercriminals.
  • one-time passwords: Avoid reusing passwords across different accounts. If a cyber attacker compromises a password, he gets unlimited access to all other registered services, which can cause more significant damage. Consider using a password manager to securely store and manage your passwords.
  • Keep passwords private: Never share Netflix passwords with anyone or keep them near your computer, including digital files. Use password management tools for secure storage.
