An investigation carried out by engineers at Rice University in Texas, USA, seems to have found a way to improve the longevity of current lithium batteries.

count the BGR website that the method in question is based on a coating composed of a more stabilized lithium metal particle. With this process, engineers say they manage to improve the longevity of these batteries between 22 to 44%.

The study, published in the scientific journal ACS Applied Energy Materials, indicates that there are still departments where improvements are needed, noting however how useful it will be to improve the efficiency and longevity of all electronic devices with lithium batteries - such as mobile phones, tablets, smart watches, among others.
