Drones are prohibited in certain areas of the country, in order to guarantee operational security, avoid acts of unlawful interference and protect people and goods on land, according to a statement from the National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC), via Angop.

In the official ANAC note, released yesterday, January 13, informs that the drones “dmust stay away from any presidential perimeter, urban infrastructure, State reserves, police stations, military zones, schools, hospitals, churches and national parks, except when previously and duly authorized".

These new prohibitions and rules, according to the Angolan institution, aim to protect the security and protection of the legitimate rights and interests of Angolan citizens, something that is protected by the Constitution of the Republic of Angola and by the Law.

The rules and criteria in the ANAC communiqué relate specifically to civilian drones, with a specific weight between 250 grams and 25 kilograms, used for commercial, technical, scientific and leisure purposes.

"Taking into account the rampant proliferation of this type of aircraft, often used outside the law, ANAC sensitizes the owners and users of these aircraft, in order to refrain from using them in illegal activities“, reads the note.

According to the ANAC statement, it reinforces that, over any airport, the drone must be manned at a maximum altitude of 122 meters, outside the 10 kilometer radius, and must be within the pilot’s field of vision, or within a maximum radius of 500 meters away.

For the night period, the period between 18 pm and 5:30 am is prohibited, the note adds that the use of drones, without prior authorization, is a notable violation of the Air Safety Regulations of Angola, punishable under the terms of the legislation in force. in the country.

"Before moving any drone, in order to comply with the rules and guarantee the flight, its user must inform the nearest police unit or local authority, upon presentation of the legal certification of use and authorization for the operation.“, reinforces the ANAC.
